A fashion Short:
I didn't really have a concept at the beginning. Was just keen on making something surreal and visually attractive. But as we got into it, i wanted to bring a fairy tale element to the video. Goldilocks being the fairy tale. The whole idea about going into a strangers house and losing yourself interested me. In the video, Arshia's character sort of transforms from this little inquisitive girl to an almost whimsical being. And you dont really know whats going on with her. I like to leave people guessing and for them to have their own interpretation of the story.
We were very particular about the clothes. We wanted looks to suit the different stages of her metamorphosis. Simple and subtle in the beginning, and more whimsical and fairy tale like towards the end.
I hope this film can inspire people and make fashion films more relevant in India.

When i went through the Chloe s/s'11 collection a few months ago, i did not feel much, apart from just appreciating the clothes. This however, was different.

'The Fashion Icons' story in the 3'rd issue of the LOVE magazine s/s 2010 is noticeable.

Fashion editor : Katie Grand Photography is MERT and MARCUS.

Models: Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Kristen McMenamy, Amber Valletta, Natalia Vodianova, Daria Werbowy, Jeneil Williams, Lara Stone

They've given out the jest of it in a sentence slapped on one of the pages that says

"We asked eight of the most beautiful women in the world, for their ages, their measurements and their opinions on their bodies". Although i did not like the word 'beautiful'.Successful would've been apt.

Loved a couple of shots of Natalia Vodianova and Lara Stone.Such pictures make me regret not being technically efficient in photography. Mert and Marcus do great portraits.

Rest of the pictures are boring.Or rather the subjects are boring.Kate Moss is boring

Sisley Palm Spring Advertising Campaign

This is classic Terry Richardson.Very subjective which I love.I see more stark colors this time though, when usually his palette is somewhat bland.Do not like the 'Sisley' name tag. Sources say, he does not use photo editing software or retouching, which if true, is attractive to me.The infamous white background is missing.

This is a series of images titled 'End Times' taken by American Photographer,Jill Greenberg.
To create End Times, Greenberg gave lollipops to toddlers but took them back after several moments, provoking emotional outbursts. Greenberg used the images as a representation of American Politics and Society. Greenberg was accused of child abuse for the photo shoots.
I think the photos are honest and beautiful.There's a slight hint of Diane Arbus in them.

Greenberg also shot a series of promotional images for recording artist, Gwen Stefani's album 'The Sweet Escape" which is obviously inspired by her previous 'End Times' exhibition.

I love Chris Cunnigham's work , especially the video he did for Bjork titled 'All is full of love'
Its nice to see him back. Love the lighting and the location seems magical with the wind blowing over the field of flowers & the model.The song used is a Donna Summer(love her) track, called 'I feel love'.

These pictures have a cinematic quality, that i love and often try to incorporate in my own.Adore the color and texture of the prints. I would really like to know what kind of camera Mr.plungeon used for this shoot.
Clothes by fade, are very demure and almost fairytale like.Love the light blue dress with the butterfly sleeves.Interesting model choice.

Another example of ' the deconstruction of the fashion industry ' . The unusual and almost awkward like poses make it look more relatable somehow because i think that's what it comes down to eventually. When i look at a photograph , i see myself as, or becoming the image and it makes it more easier if what is in the photo,is something i can actually picture myself doing or being for that matter.These photos exhibit qualities that go beyond a common fashion spread, where our attention is drawn solely, to the clothes. Its almost like an average persons routine from day, through the afternoon and onto the night.Things one might do when one is usually alone, in this case the person being Mariacarla Boscono.This is fascinating to me.The photographer,Lina Scheynius is relatively new,this being one of her first fashion shoots.She seems very promising.Love the texture and color of the pictures.Natural lighting has always been my favorite.
I feel the styling is really impeccable..i mean, none of the clothes look out of place or take away from the simplicity of the idea behind.
Overall, this is not typical fashion material but the very existence of such kind of 'fashion' photography is refreshing.

The first thing that comes to my mind when i think of Kate Winslet, is Heavenly Creatures. Also in my opinion,the fact how underrated she is.Now with the success of 'the reader' and an Oscar, she has gained recognition she truly deserves. And that,makes me a happy admirer.
This shoot in particular, at first seems routine like and so called 'done'.But it slowly grows on you, as it did on me.Steven Meisel is incredible,and knows the thin line between vulgarity and class.
Kate as always, looks every bit of the beautiful person she is, inside and out.
